You’ll find homemade pastries, soups and sandwiches—even pigs in a blanket!—all in a historic location at Lighthouse Bakery. Spending a day off the Island? There are plenty of delicious dining options located in areas just inland of Dauphin Island. Enjoy breathtaking views of Fowl River while dining on fresh Gulf-to-table Mahi Mahi at Pelican Reef Restaurant. In Bayou La Batre, the Blue Heron Café serves up fresh Gulf seafood and New Orleans-style Po-Boys. Enjoy an evening at the family-owned and operated Lighthouse Restaurant, or if you’re craving something a little more Southern, Captain Frank’s Smoke Shack offers the best barbeque around, but we recommend you start with their award-winning gumbo. Gabe’s Fajita House, in Grand Bay, offers fresh ingredients and healthy Tex-Mex food choices. In Theodore, serious soul food is on the menu at Time to Eat restaurant, and Bangkok Thai Cuisine offers a healthy, authentic Thai menu. On Dauphin Island, Gulf seafood is king, but with many dining options located on and around the Island, you can satisfy any craving thanks to a wide variety of restaurants.
