While visiting South Mobile County, a ride down scenic byway 188 covered by century old oaks should be on your agenda. Although the visiting the beaches or the site where Disney’s Black Pearl ship was built may seem intriguing, Bayou cuisine will be calling your name! Since you won’t have time to taste it all, we have narrowed it down based on some of our favorites. Check out these great places and let us know with the hashtag #visitsomo:
Taste some true down south cookin’ at Capt. Frank’s Smoke Shack. From pulled pork to ribs to smoked chicken, everything here is finger licking good!
If BBQ isn’t quite what you had in mind then head over to a Bayou staple, Catalina. In fact, be sure to taste a cup of their homemade gumbo or crab bisque!
Remember the chicken dance? Well you will definitely bust a move to Sidney’s Chicken and Seafood. With fried chicken better than your mom’s and old fashioned hamburgers what more can we say?!
Once it is all said and done, get your sweet fix at Sugar Rush. From donuts topped with bacon, to cookies and cream flavored to holiday-inspired specials these bakers are sure to have a donut that will make everyone’s mouth water!
Southern favorites, seafood and gourmet treats are just the surface of “must-taste” places in Bayou La Batre. Food so good, you will be booking your next trip before you even sign the tab!
